Can an E-2 Visa Holder have another job?
Hi there. I’m Angie Rupert, founder of Rupert Law Group, and today we’re going to talk about some of the most frequently asked questions regarding the E-2 visa.
Today we’re gonna talk about if an E-2 visa holder can have another job in the United States. The answer, unfortunately, is no. You’re only going to be authorized to work in the E-2 visa business for which you applied.
You realize that once you started applying for the E-2 visa, you supplied the government with many, many documents regarding that business. The government reviewed those documents, and based on those documents and your interview, approved the E-2 visa.
Once that visa was approved, the government only approved that business. So, if you have any questions about what business you’re authorized to work for in the United States, you can also check your visa.
In fact, the name of the business will be printed right on your E-2 visa. That is the only business for which you can work once you receive an E-2 visa.
